Though Pokhara has a sub-tropical climate, still the temperatures are moderate here because of the altitude of the city. The area around Pokhara receives a large amount of rainfall, in fact the highest in Nepal. The summers are usually humid and mild while the winters are clear and sunny.

• Winter: Lasting from December to February, the winters are very cold and snowfall is a possibility.
• Spring: The temperatures drop a little in the months of March – May.
• Summer: From June – August, the region is drenched with constant rainfall and the weather becomes a little mild and humid.
• Autumn: The mercury starts dropping in the months of September – November and the temperature also becomes quite comfortable.

The best time to visit Pokhara is usually when the rainfall ceases and the temperature too is comfortably cold. This is usually during the months of September to November and also early May. Though Pokhran can be visited anytime of the year, it is best to avoid a rip during the months of May – August and December to January because of the constant showers and extreme cold.
