Over the ages women in Iraqi Kurdistan are still being proud of wearing traditional clothes in spite of wide variety of imported clothes and foreign brands which were imposed strongly in the markets of Iraq.

         Kurdish women dress enchants the one who looks at it with its glowing, shiny and bright colours that are inspired by the outstanding nature of mountains and plains of Kurdistan region. Women are keen to wear this outfit on feasts, holidays and family visits.

          Monday, the tenth of March is the traditional Kurdish outfit day in Kurdistan region. People wear the traditional outfit in schools and directorates in order to revive the Kurdish heritage; furthermore, spring holidays formed another occasion in March considering that ‘’Newroz’’ is a national holiday and represents a historic new year adopted by Kurds for 27 centuries.
