The Powder Tower is now popularly known as The Powder Gate. It can trace its origins back to the 11th century, when the original gate was one of 13 entrances to Prague's Old Town. Today, it offers visitors awe inspiring views of the city. The tower was intended to be an attractive entrance into the city, instead of a defensive tower. Today, once you enter these towers, you will be able to witness a lovely exhibition which is known as the"Prague Towers" and it displays photos captured by the renowned Ladislav Sitensky. You can also undertake the challenge of climbing the 186 steps inside to reach the viewing platform which is at a height of 44 metres, and easily enjoy views of the Old Town.
