How to spend 2 days in Amsterdam?

Day 1

Vondelpark: Sprawled across an area of 47 hectares, Vondelpark is one of the best parks of the city. It was established in the year 1865 and is named after the famous poet Joost van den Vondel. Along with a pond, a playground and picnicking facilities, this park also has an open-air theatre. You will find many HoReCa facilities in this park, which make for perfect places to have a quick snack.

Van Gogh Museum: Dedicated to an artist who needs no introduction, Van Gogh Museum displays the exclusive works of the famous impressionist artist, Van Gogh. With the largest collection of the artist’s art pieces in the world, it has an exceptional reputation. It houses 200 paintings, 400 drawings, and close to 700 letters, all written by Van Gogh. some of the selected works that are displayed here are The Yellow House, Sunflowers and his self-portraits too.

Rijksmuseum: The reputed Dutch National Museum, Rijksmuseum brings to you the history of the city and its arts. While it was established in the year 1800, it was moved into Amsterdam in 1808. It is the largest museums in Netherlands, and also one of the top ones! Its collection includes items that date back to the 1200s, the works of some famous artists like Rembrandt and Frans Hals, and also an Asian section.

Huis Marseille, Museum For Photography: Established in 1999, Huis Marseille, Museum For Photography, is today housed in a heritage building. Residence of a merchant, the structure went through some restoration and renovation, before housing the collection. It often acts as a gallery for famous photographers and artists.

Jewish Cultural Quarter: dedicated to the history of the Jewish people, Jewish Cultural Quarter is also known as The Joods Historisch Museum. Exhibiting close to 11,000 objects that range from historical to art, you can have a close view of the lives of the Jews during and after the world war.

Leidseplein: One of the best places to enjoy the nightlife of Amsterdam, Leidseplein is packed with bars, pubs and restaurants that serves delicious drinks and a wide variety of cuisines.

Day 2

Anne Frank House: Anne Frank House is the writer’s own home, which is now converted into a museum. With importance given to the writer’s diary and the stories of Jewish wartime, it is one of the most visited museums in Amsterdam. The museum was established in 1960, and even though Anne Frank did not survive the war, her stories have found a way to reach everyone through this facility.

Dam Square: Located in the heart of the historical hub of the city, Dam Square is famous for the important buildings that are located here. The Royal Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) and the famous Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum are all part of this square.

Rembrandtplein: Named after the beloved painter Rembrandt van Rijn, Rembrandtplein is a major tourist attraction in Amsterdam. While the square is famous for housing some of the best restaurants, bakeries and cafes, it also plays host to markets, which are exciting to say the least!

Oude Kerk: The city’s oldest building, is Oude Kerk, the old church. Almost more than 800 years old, it has a unique wooden roof, which is worth a visit. The stained-glass windows, the organs, and the archaic design is mesmerising.

Amsterdam Canals: Your tour of 2 Days in Amsterdam will be incomplete without experiencing the Amsterdam Canals. While there are three main canals that connect the entire center, the details of this system are impressive. There are 90 islands within this network, connected by canals and 1,500 bridges.
